Precision resistors achieve tolerances down to ±0.01%

Rhopoint Components, the specialist distributor, has announced the availability of Exxelia Ohmcraft high‑stability precision resistors.

Precision resistors achieve tolerances down to ±0.01%

Using proprietary Micropen thick‑film technology, these resistors achieve tolerances down to ±0.01%. And there are TCR (Temperature Coefficient of Resistance) values of ±2 ppm/°C.

“This combination ensures extremely stable performance over temperature, time, and operating conditions,” states Rhopoint.

“Engineers benefit from ultra‑low noise, excellent linearity, and high voltage handling capability, making Exxelia Ohmcraft parts ideal for measurement, instrumentation, aerospace, medical, and metrology applications where every microvolt counts.”

Precision resistors - chip dimensionsFor example, there is the Exxelia Ohmcraft HVCD 5020, which is aimed at applications requiring stable and accurate voltage division.

As the product name indicates, it features high voltage chip dividers (HVCD). And a compact case size of 5020 allows for more efficient PCB layout in space-constrained designs. Rhopoint also cites a voltage rating up to 4000V, a power rating of 100mW and a resistance range from 1600MΩ to 10GΩ.

Precision resistors - power derating curveThe ratio tolerances available are ±1%, ±2%, ±5%, ±10%, and ±20%, states the company, and a TCR (Temperature Coefficient of Resistance) tracking of ±25 ppm/°C. It has an absolute TCR of ±100 ppm/°C.

You can see the datasheet online.

The full range of Exxelia Ohmcraft precision resistors can be found on the Rhopoint website. And samples are available on request.

Note, as a design‑led technical distributor, Rhopoint says it will support UK engineers in specifying and designing‑in the resistors. In other words, helping with part selection, optimisation of resistor networks, and layout guidance.

The company is based in East Grinstead, UK.
