“This Series B is more than just capital — it’s a strong endorsement of our vision to deliver and scale our manufacturing capabilities powering the next generation of constellations”, said Benoît Deper, CEO and Founder of the Charleroi-based company.
“It reinforces our position at a pivotal moment: our products are mature and ready to deploy, our industrial infrastructure is scaling up for mass production, and we are prepared to meet rising global demand with speed and precision. We are ready for what’s next.”
To be precise, the funding round involved dual-tranche funding of €56 million ($66 million). This is alongside a €38 million ($44 million USD) commitment from an unnamed European Financial Institution, believed to be the European Investment Bank (EIB).
Aerospacelab
Dating from 2018, the company has a focus on geospatial intelligence. Its technology includes Versatile Satellite Platforms (VSPs), payloads, and avionics subsystems.
Its family of platforms comprise the VSP-50, VSP-150 and VSP-300. And its satellite megafactory in Charleroi has the goal of achieving a yearly production capacity of 500 satellites.
Jaxa
In April of this year, Aerospacelab – in partnership with Mitsui Bussan Aerospace (MBA) – was selected by the Japan Exploration Agency (JAXA).
This was to supply the platform that will host JAXA’s SAMRAI payload, as part of a demonstration mission.
