Google raises $31.5bn in bond sales to fund $185bn datacentre construction

Google has raised $31.5bn in bond sales to help fund its $185bn 2026 capex budget targeted at datacentre construction.

The aim is to take a clear lead over its AI rivals.

Google raised $11.5bn in GBP and Swiss Franc bonds and $20bn in $ bonds.

Last year Google had revenue of $400bn.


Google’s capex was $31.5bn in 2022, $32.3bn in 2023, $52.5bn in 2024 and $91.4bn last year.

Last month Oracle took on debt of $25bn to fund datacentre construction.
