DVCon Europe announces keynote lineup

The Design and Verification Conference & Exhibition Europe (DVCon Europe) has announced its keynote speakers.

Ralph Schleifer, head of virtual ECUs and simulation at CARIAD will deliver ‘Driving Forward: The Evolution of Virtual Development in the Automotive Industry’,  and Amanda Brock (pictured), CEO of OpenUK’s keynote is entitled:  ‘We didn’t start the fire…open source software in 2025’.

Mark Burton, general chair of DVCon Europe, said “We have two very different and very strong speakers who have important things to say about automotive, open source and the whole tech industry.”


Ralph will address the challenges and lessons learned for virtual development in automotive, and will highlight advances, including innovation in simulation technologies, digital twins, and virtual testing environments.


Amanda will deliver a refresher on the meaning of open source software to build a base understanding of the shift in digital infrastructure over the last 10 years and peel back the layers of digitalisation, showing what makes tech tick today.

Ralph Schleifer was active in different fields of mobile communication at Ericsson in software development, speech processing research, system engineering, DSP sub systems and virtual prototypes before joining CARIAD in 2015 where he has established virtual development methodology on different abstraction levels along the automotive supply chain.

Amanda Brock has been instrumental in shaping open source’s legal frameworks, echoing her earlier work with internet law. She holds a wide variety of Advisory Board appointments with, for example, the UK Cabinet Office Open Standards Board and the UKRI Digital Research Infrastructure.

DVCon Europe takes place 14-15 October at the Holiday Inn Munich and is sponsored by Accellera Systems Initiative.
