Suggested applications – for digital signals in critical applications – include industrial automation, energy power systems, and data center power supplies.
RobustISO
The RobustISO digital isolators meet reinforced and basic isolation requirements across various standards, including VDE, UL, and CQC. They offer a 5,000VRMS isolation rating for one minute, per UL 1577, says the company, and feature an 8,000VPK isolation rating, per DIN EN IEC 60747-17 (VDE 0884-17). This is with a maximum surge isolation voltage of 12,800VPK.
“This level of isolation represents a significant differentiation with a higher breakdown voltage exceeding 12kV, compared to less than 10kV for comparable products,” writes Diodes.
They support data rates of up to 100Mbps, accommodating various transmission protocols.
Diodes highlights that they feature strong electromagnetic immunity and low emissions, with a minimum 150kV/µs common-mode transient immunity (CMTI).
“This powerful anti-electromagnetic-interference (EMI) capability ensures more reliable signal transmission, which is particularly crucial in environments prone to electrical noise,” it writes.
API772x
The API772x series operates over a supply voltage range of 2.5V to 5.5V. In terms of power consumption, typically drawing 2.1mA per channel at 1Mbps. They offer a low propagation delay of 11ns (typ.), for timely signal transferring.
The devices provide options for digital channel-direction configurations and default output levels. For example, the API7720 has both channels in the same direction. The API7721 and API7722 have channels in opposite directions.
Devices with the “F” suffix default to a low output, and those without an “F” default to high.
The API772x devices are supplied in the SO-8W (Type CJ) package. They are available with prices starting from $0.46 in 1,000-piece quantities.
