Kontron turns to TI for compact OSM-S AM62L

Kontron Electronics is introducing its compact SoM, the OSM-S AM62L, which runs on TI’s AM62L, the low-power Arm Cortex-A53 SoC.

Kontron's turns to TI for compact OSM-S AM62L

Designed for space-saving and embedded platforms, the OSM-S AM62L is aimed at applications such as smart home systems, patient monitoring systems, EV charging stations, and solar gateways.

OSM-S AM62L Specification

Clocking 1.25 GHz, Kontron’s system-on-module is compliant with the OSM standard and supports 512MB to 2GB LPDDR4 RAM as well as 4GB to 128GB eMMC flash storage.

A MIPI-DSI and an RGB interface are available for human-machine interfaces. And for comms, there are two Gigabit Ethernet ports and two CAN FD interfaces.

TI

It is the first time Kontron Electronics has introduced a SoM module with a Texas Instruments processor, as opposed to Intel or AMD.

Initial customer samples of the OSM-S AM62L system-on-module will be available from Q2 of 2026.

Kontron Electroincs Group headquarters are in Ismaning. It also has offices in San Diego, Montréal, Beijing and Taipei.
