Spanning 62,000 square feet, it has testing facilities, training spaces and commercial workspaces.<\/p><div class=\"elect-test\" style=\"margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center; \" id=\"elect-308376582\"><div id=\"DFP-EW-InRead1\">\r\n<script type=\"text\/javascript\"> if ($(window).width() > 768) { googletag.display('DFP-EW-InRead1'); } <\/script>\r\n<\/div>\r\n<BR>\r\n<\/div>\n<p>For example, there is a vacuum chamber for testing electric propulsion engines, which the UKSA highlights as only facility of its type in the UK and one of the largest in the world.<\/p><div class=\"elect-post-content-2\" style=\"margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center; \" id=\"elect-2108170798\"><div id=\"DFP-EW-InRead1-Mobile\">\r\n<script type=\"text\/javascript\"> if ($(window).width() <= 768) { googletag.display('DFP-EW-InRead1-Mobile'); } <\/script>\r\n<\/div>\r\n<\/div>\n<p>The location is the Westcott Venture Park. And the UKSA highlighted this a site with 50 years of heritage as a rocket engine test site. It is also the site of the <a rel=\"image\" href=\"https:\/\/www.electronicsweekly.com\/news\/design\/test-and-measurement-2\/westcott-drone-test-and-development-centre-gets-development-update-2025-03\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Westcott Drone Test and Development Centre<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This world-class facility will provide companies with access to cutting-edge testing infrastructure that was previously unavailable in this country, helping them to scale up and compete globally,&#8221; said Dr Paul Bate, CEO of the UK Space Agency.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Our \u00a35.8 million investment is already delivering results, leveraging substantial private sector funding and creating high-skilled jobs. By bringing together businesses, researchers and training facilities under one roof, the Hub will foster the collaboration essential for growing the UK\u2019s thriving space economy.&#8221;<\/p>\n<h2>Facilities<\/h2>\n<p><a rel=\"image\" href=\"https:\/\/static.electronicsweekly.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/22152246\/s960_Westcott_-_overhead_shot.webp\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-887898 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/static.electronicsweekly.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/22152246\/s960_Westcott_-_overhead_shot.webp\" alt=\"Westcott Space Hub in Westcott Venture Park\" width=\"960\" height=\"640\" srcset=\"https:\/\/static.electronicsweekly.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/22152246\/s960_Westcott_-_overhead_shot.webp 960w, https:\/\/static.electronicsweekly.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/22152246\/s960_Westcott_-_overhead_shot-300x200.webp 300w, https:\/\/static.electronicsweekly.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/22152246\/s960_Westcott_-_overhead_shot-768x512.webp 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 960px) 100vw, 960px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Hub includes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>42,000 square feet of flexible commercial space featuring offices, laboratories and workshops, with 33% already pre-let, says UKSA<\/li>\n<li>A 10,000 square foot training facility with a 150-seat lecture auditorium, 15 classrooms and a fully equipped workshop<\/li>\n<li>10,000 square feet of shared facilities including a clean room, mechanical environmental testing facilities, and propulsion testing facilities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Funding<\/h2>\n<p>In detail, the UKSA is contributing \u00a35.8 million of funding.
