Meta is making a big bet on AMD,\u201d said Su during an investor call after yesterday\u2019s announcement of the deal.<\/p>\n<p>Meta also has a deal to buy Nvidia chips worth an estimated $50bn.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe don\u2019t believe that a single silicon solution will work for all of our workloads,\u201d said Meta\u2019s infrastructure chief Santosh Janardhan, \u201cthere\u2019s a place for Nvidia, there\u2019s a place for AMD and\u2009there\u2019s a place for our own custom silicon as well. We need all three.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Meta will also buy customised CPUs from AMD.<\/p>\n<p>Meta\u2019s 2026 capex budget is $115-135bn with datacentres a major focus. Last year it spent $72bn.<\/p>\n<p>It is currently building a $10bn datacentre in Indiana and plans a $27bn datacentre in Louisiana.<\/p>\n<p><a rel=\"image\"
