The datacentre, at Bruyeres-le-Chatel near Paris, is used to train of AI models using 13,800 Nvidia GB300 AI ICs, with operations expected to start in Q2.
The $830 million has been borrowed from a consortium of banks including: HSBC, Mitsubishi UFJ, BNP Paribas, Credit Agricole CIB, Natixis CIB, La Banque Postale and Bpifrance.

Among its customers, says Mistral, are: IBM, Cisco, Stellantis and ASML ( which invested €1.3 billion in Mistral last year).
Last month, Mistral bought infrastructure startup Koyeb.
The company wants to have 200 MW of computing capacity in Europe by the end of 2027.
In February, Mistral announced it would spend €1.2 billion to build a datacentre in Sweden.
“We will continue to invest in this area, given the surging and sustained demand from governments, enterprises and research institutions seeking to build their own customized AI environment, rather than depend on third-party cloud providers,” said CEO Arthur Mensch.
